Super 8 is an analog film format that creates a nostalgic, cinematic look with natural grain, soft colors, subtle flicker, and organic movement. It captures wedding moments in a way that feels intimate and timeless.

Super 8 has a distinct vintage character: visible film grain, softer detail, gentle color shifts, and sometimes light leaks or other natural film characteristics. The result variesdepending on the film stock, lighting, exposure, and how the footage is developed and scanned.

Super 8 film has about three minutes of footage per roll. When shooting Super 8 I am very mindful and intentional about what I film but I also make sure to never miss the most important moments of the day.

This depends on the filmmaker and package. Super 8 is typically used to create a short highlight film, often around 3–8 minutes, rather than documenting the entire wedding day from start to finish.

Technically, yes, but it can become impractical and expensive because Super 8 usesphysical film cartridges with limited recording time. Many couples instead use Super 8 alongside digital wedding videography.

Traditional Super 8 wedding footage is generally captured without synchronized audio. Filmmakers often pair the visuals with music, ambient audio, or separately recordedvows and speeches.

Film needs to be processed and scanned before editing, so delivery can take longer than a purely digital wedding video. Your filmmaker should provide an estimated turnaround time when you book.
